Professional Profile Susan Long-Molnar, PresidentAs founder and President of Managing Communications Consulting, Long-Molnar consults and executes work for a broad range of clients in professional services, the construction industry, technology, retail, manufacturing and distribution. She provides strategic planning for all disciplines, oversees creative and production, and serves as the outsourced professional on her clients' senior management, marketing or public relations' teams. Before transitioning Managing Communications Consulting to a full-service firm, Long-Molnar served in leadership positions for three large regional operations in Hampton Roads: USAA's Mid-Atlantic Corporate Communications Manager (regional public affairs, community relations, marketing, and internal communications); Cox Communications' internal communications management for Hampton Roads (during tremendous growth and acquisition of businesses), and as Director of Business Development and Marketing for Sentara Enterprises, Sentara Health System. She also serves as the Vice President, Corporate Communications/HR for Medical Laboratory Solutions, Inc. which provides hematology and chemistry equipment services to laboratories nationwide. Earlier years included teaching high school English and communications for ten years and serving five years as owner of a Hampton Roads, VA advertising and public relations firm with over fifty clients, ranging from established distributors and professional services to retail start up businesses. Throughout her career, communications planning, coaching, and writing have been instrumental in successful implementation of projects for clients and employers. Appreciating her ability to give back to the community through leadership, Long-Molnar is the Past Chair for Public Relations Society of America's national Employee Communications Section Chair and served as Chair and Past Chair for the Norfolk Division of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Regional Board of Directors. She is a Past President for the Kiwanis Club of Town Center, Pembroke, and a member since 1990. She is also active in the National Speakers Association of Virginia, Hampton Roads Association of the Commercial Real Estate, Commercial Real Estate Women, and serves on the Advisory Board of CREED ( Old Dominion University's E.V.Williams Center for Real Estate and Economic Development). In 2007 Long-Molnar was recognized by Inside Business magazine with a Woman in Business award and in 2008 the publication recognized her as one of twelve recipients of the Entrepreneur of the Year awards presented by Regent University’s Global Leadership and Entrepreneurship and Inside Business.
