Dunkin' Donuts Kicks Off Thanks to You Program in Hampton Roads and Richmond by Honoring Outstanding Nurses
Everyone working in some area of nursing will receive a free cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee every Tuesday in August at all Hampton Roads and Richmond area Dunkin' Donuts locations.
Dunkin' Donuts, America's all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, is kicking off five months of recognition for those who serve others in our community, beginning with Thanks to You, Nurses for the month of August. The Kick-off Celebration for Thanks to You, Nurses was Monday, August 2nd In Hampton Roads at the Dunkin' Donuts at the Norfolk Hampton Blvd. restaurant honoring Debbie Quast, RN, the 2010 CHKD Nurse of the Year. In Richmond, the event was held at the Chesterfield area Dunkin' Donuts the same day, honoring Sam Ogunleye, Nurse Technician at Sheltering Arms Rehabilitation Hospital-South.
Everyone working in some area of nursing will receive a free cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee every Tuesday in August at all Hampton Roads and Richmond area Dunkin' Donuts locations. Nurses simply show ID to redeem their free coffee. The Thanks to You Program is designed to celebrate Hampton Roads and Richmond heroes – nurses, teachers, firefighters, military and police – and increase the Dunkin' Donuts restaurants' community involvement. Each month from August through December, one of these groups will be honored with a free medium coffee when they present their ID.
About Sam Ogunleye and Debbie Quast
Sam has a Bachelor Degree and a Masters Degree in Engineering; however, his true love was health care. Sam has been at Sheltering Arms for about four and half years where he has been an exemplary employee. These are just a sampling of what patients say about Sam: "Sam is wonderful", "Sam was exceptional", and "I could not have done it with out him". Debbie brings her expertise and willing spirit to her job as a nurse to the tiny babies of CHKD's 62-bed Level IV neonatal intensive care unit. She was recognized for her collaboration with other members of the health care team at CHKD, an important aspect of the award's criteria, helping to ensure the best care for the more than 500 babies cared for each year in CHKD's NICU.
WTKR's Blaine Stewart was on hand for live news segments at the Hampton Roads Norfolk restaurant bright and early Tuesday morning August 3 to communicate the Thanks to You program, WRIC in Richmond interviewed Dunkin' Donuts regional marketing manager, Kristin Doehring, for a news segments. You may have seen the same week an article in Inside Business which included comments from one of the area's franchisees.
Susan Long-Molnar Named to HRCC Norfolk Division Board
Managing Communications’ President is not new to Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce leadership. She served on the Norfolk Division Board for eight years, and served in those years as Treasurer, Vice-Chair, and then Chair in 2006. In 2010, she has returned to the Board and will assist on the Economic Development Committee, the Armed Forces Committee, and with special projects.
Long-Molnar has also been named to the executive committee of a newly formed HRCC committee, Environmental Business Advocates. The Committee will be leading and engaging the business community in sustainable initiatives focusing on education, legislation and networking. This effort supports Managing Communications Consulting's role in marketing and PR for companies developing sustainable technologies, products, and services such as we do for our client, Nutrients PLUS, a Virginia Beach headquartered company which is the largest recycler of natural ingredients possessing valuable organic matter in blends with traditional fertilizers.
