Community and Leadership
Judeo-Christian Shelters
In 2009, MCC provided in-kind services to the Judeo-Christian Shelters in Virginia Beach at the request of one of our clients, Krys Reid, President of Tower Benefit Consultants who serves on the organization’s board. We provided content and design analysis for the organization’s web site and made recommendations for revising the fund-raising newsletter. We plan to continue our commitment to this organization whose mission is... To empower homeless families and individuals to recover from crisis situations and return to being self-supporting, productive, and independent members of our community. http://www.jcoc.org/
Kiwanis Charities
Susan Long-Molnar is a member and Vice Chair of Kiwanis Club of Town Center, Virginia Beach. She is a past president and has agreed to serve as president 2011 in light of the recent impact on job transitions of other members, especially the Y-Gen but hopes to be the last Boomer in this role! Susan was the first women to be a member of Kiwanis in Hampton Roads and founded the 5K race in memory of John Wecht, now known as the Kiwanis Town Center Races and Taste of Town Center which is preparing for its 16th year.
New MCC Community Initiative
MCC is looking for partners, sponsors, or suggestions for developing a program to assist at risk and C-average middle school and high school girls to improve writing skills, express themselves, and build self-esteem through opportunities to be published. We will be modeling a program similar to the Girls Write Now, located in New York City or WriteGirl, a not-for-profit organization in Los Angeles.
